There are three books that I’ve seen at a book shop lately. As far as I can tell they seem to give a nice overview of the topic of Pidgins & Creoles – whereas the first one is more a general introduction and the other two, in a way, belong together, i.e. they’re volumes.
1. Holm, John. “An Introduction to Pidgins and Creoles.” Cambridge: CUP, 2000.
2. Holm, John. “Pidgins and Creoles Volume I: Theory and Structure.” Cambridge: CUP, 1988.
3. Holm, John. “Pidgins and Creoles Volume II: Reference Survey.” Cambridge: CUP, 1989.
I think they are all quite well arranged – written in a style comparable to George Yule’s “The Study of Language” which you all might know from linguistics I, 1 and I, 2.
